The Photos...

All of the photos shown below were taken by Lisa in her own backyard. You too can experience a vast array of bird species simply by adding feeders and water to your garden. The galleries are broken down into 3 categories:

Common Birds: The birds in this gallery are easily drawn to backyard feeders. They are the ones most noticed and identified by all levels of birders.

Winter Visitors: It's fortunate that some species of birds spend the winter in Virginia. They are a welcomed sight each year! I've learned to recognize their songs and calls and am blessed when they return to my feeding stations.

Just Wow! Sometimes birds just magically appear at my feeders or somewhere in the yard. If I'm lucky, I have my camera at hand. Often times, simple bird activity at feeders draws in other species of birds that you weren't necessarily expecting. That's the awesomeness of nature!
